Walter Redenbacher
I first met Harold when he came to Levolor as advertising consultant. I'd heard Harold previously owned an agency with the masthead "Friend Reiss."
From the name I assumed he was of Quaker background. Somewhere I had been warned, if you do business with a Quaker you had better hold on to your wallet.
As the Eastern regional manager I was fortunate in having the opportunity of having a working relationship with Harold. He made a transformation in my life, as my mentor, my coach, my inspiration. He always found time no matter how busy to help out anyone who asked. He created the numerous promotions, presentations, press releases, scripts and speeches. He instilled energy, enthusiasm, and confidence to Levolor management and the sales force at all levels.
Moreover and more importantly, he took a floundering product and turned it into a world class brand with record-breaking sales for which in my view he never got enough credit.
We knew Harold as a wonderful, considerate, compassionate human being. Jeanne and I will miss him dearly. We were especially privileged to have known him as "Friend Reiss."
